Just a quick update on the project's status, we've been focusing this last weeks on refactoring and cleaning up the code base of A Life in Silk.
It's boring nerdy stuff but necessary if we want to avoid a lot post-release bugs. After that, we think we have only 2 phases of content integration and we will be done.
We believe that the most difficult thing for us working on ALIS was the fact we couldn't devote our self full-time to the project, it's very hard to keep a constant production velocity in a part-time context.
It's something to consider to any team that are planning they own crowd-funded game, even if the scope is small, part-timing on a project can slow your down so better add some padding on your expected release date in consequence.
But we will publish a full postmortem of ALIS's funding & production process, hopefully the information will help other developers with they own projects, I know we have learned a lot on our side ^_^

So, do you think you'll be able to fulfill your goal of an August release?
ReplyDeleteHello, we might need a little more time, still waiting for a last patch of assets.
DeleteMay I ask if you are Offbeatr contributor and if yes, did you have any chance to try out the builds?
Please don't hesitate to send us more feedback.
Cheers,
